The foundation of Arabia’s design philosophy includes timeless beauty, quality, and practicality. The focus on design and long-term product development stems from an understanding of consumer needs, aiming to enhance everyday life with durable products that can be cherished for generations.
Oven Safety
Arabia dishes are oven-safe and can be used to cook food in the oven.
- When using dishes in the oven, ensure that the bottom of the dish is covered with liquid or food throughout the heating process.
- The maximum temperature should not exceed 250°C (482°F).
- The dishes should be placed at least 10 cm (4 inches) away from the oven’s grill elements.
- Do not place cold dishes from the freezer directly into a hot oven or vice versa.
Microwave Safety
Arabia dishes are microwave-safe, making them convenient for defrosting frozen treats or heating up servings. You save time and effort by using the same dish for various purposes.
Freezer Safety
Arabia dishes can withstand cold temperatures, as long as food is cooled before placing it in the freezer. Conversely, do not place a serving dish directly from the freezer into a hot oven. Do not freeze liquids in the dishes, as they expand when frozen.
Dishwasher Safety
The glazes and colors used by Arabia have been tested for decades and are continually developed. The glaze provides a beautiful appearance and a durable surface. By following the dosage instructions for dishwashing detergents and rinse aids, you can keep your Arabia dishes bright and shiny.
Decorative Items Usage and Care
Decorative plates intended for display are not recommended for dining or serving and should not be washed in a dishwasher. The image on decorative items is fired at a low temperature, so it is not protected by the glaze and cannot withstand dishwasher cleaning. Ceramic colorants are inorganic, so they do not need protection from sunlight. Ceramic decorative items can be cleaned with water and dish soap, avoiding abrasive cleaners and tools.
Candle Holders and Lanterns
In Arabia candle holders, you can burn either a tealight or a standard tall, thin candle. Do not burn a standard candle down to the very end; extinguish it when it is about 1–2 cm (0.4–0.8 inches) from the top of the holder. This ensures that the heat from the flame does not damage your item. Only use metal-cased tealights with a maximum diameter of 42 mm (1.65 inches). Ensure there is adequate air circulation between the tealight and the walls of the holder.
Also, follow the usage/warning instructions for candle products: Always place candle holders on a non-flammable surface. Never leave a burning candle unattended; extinguish the candle or lantern when you leave the area. Do not drop foreign objects (such as matches) into the lantern or on the candle. Avoid placing candles in draughty areas, hot locations, or on top of a TV.
Do not move a burning candle, as the wick may shift in the melted wax. Do not place flammable materials (such as curtains) above or near the candle or candle holder.
We recommend stacking no more than three layers to ensure a stable base for the burning candle.
